Sushi Kaneyoshi

Sushi Kaneyoshi is a one-MICHELIN-starred Edomae sushi omakase led by Itamae Yoshiyuki Inoue, located in the basement (Suite B1) of 250 1st St in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. The restaurant serves a traditional Edomae omakase built on fish aged and cured in the classic Tokyo style, open Tuesday through Saturday from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with reservations through SevenRooms. The week follows a set rhythm: on Tuesdays the restaurant hosts a weekly collaboration omakase with Sushi Inaba; on Wednesdays and Thursdays the original dining room — the Regular Room — serves Kaneyoshi's classic omakase; and on Fridays and Saturdays Oyakata Inoue personally serves an elevated omakase in the Premium Room, an eight-seat counter opened on March 11, 2025. From Friday through Monday the Regular Room becomes sister venue Maison Kanatha. Kaneyoshi is the flagship of the Kaneyoshi Group, which also operates Restaurant Ki and Bar Sawa, its late-night sister bar a few steps away.

After years of meticulous planning, construction and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence, Sushi Kaneyoshi has ascended to its next chapter. On March 11, 2025, Oyakata Inoue Yoshiyuki unveiled his Premium Room—an intimate sanctum of unparalleled craftsmanship, where only eight privileged guests bear witness to an omakase experience unlike any other in Kaneyoshi's history.

This is sushi at its most exacting and every detail is sharpened, every technique honed. The ethos is stricter, the execution more refined—a space where imperfection has no refuge and where the essence of the ocean is distilled into its purest form. The Hikarimono—the fabled "shiny things" of the sea—Nishin, Kannuki, and the eternal Kohada—each one a shimmering relic, glinting like celestial bodies adrift in the abyss.

They are not just fish. They are whispers of the deep, vessels of memory, fleeting miracles caught between the tide and the blade. Their silver skin, radiant yet fragile, mirrors the glow of the moon on restless waters. Each piece is a fleeting miracle, a poem of the sea, dissolving as quickly as it arrives—yet leaving behind something everlasting.

Our regular omakase room is a modern adaptation of traditional sushi, whereas the premium room experience follows a more refined and purist approach to omakase, designed to reflect the essence of classic Edomae sushi craftsmanship by using a more elevated grade of seasonal ingredients and prepared with a strictly traditional Edomae-style technique.
